Jetson’s Strategy: Vertical Integration + Smart Tools

Jetson, a Vancouver‑based home‑electrification company, aims to rewrite how heat pumps are made, sold, and installed. By taking control of the supply chain—from manufacturing design to local installation, Jetson reduces unnecessary markups, shortens lead times, and improves consistency across projects.

Jetson sources equipment directly, stores inventory in its own warehouses, and dispatches its own installation teams rather than relying fully on subcontractors.

Jetson Software: Remote Design + Monitoring

To cut costs further, Jetson uses software tools to do much of the design work remotely. Thermal modeling and virtual walkthroughs allow sizing and system planning before an installer ever steps foot on site. Once the system is installed, Jetson’s platform provides continuous monitoring, performance alerts, over‑the‑air updates, and indoor air quality (IAQ) sensing via its app.

Jetson Installation: One‑Day & Transparent Pricing

Jetson promises that many installations are completed in a single day. Their online quoting system provides transparent pricing quickly (often in minutes), removing the need for multiple in‑home sales visits. This accelerates deployment and reduces labor and inspection overhead.

Jetson Cost Performance: Numbers that Matter

  • Average cost: Jetson reports that its installed Jetson Air systems average about $15,000, well below typical quotes from traditional contractors.

  • After incentives: In markets with robust rebates or incentives, customer cost can drop to $5,000 out‑of‑pocket for some households.

  • Cold climate performance: The system is engineered to perform reliably in very cold conditions (down to approximately ‑22 °F / ‑30 °C), making it feasible in regions with harsh winters.

  • Case study: One homeowner, Robin Macqueen in North Vancouver, saw his gas bill drop by ~$474 in six months; electricity went up ~$168; net saving ~$306; CO₂ emissions dropped by ~2.2 metric tons.

Jetson Product: Jetson Air + Jetson Care Offerings

Jetson’s flagship product, Jetson Air, integrates with existing ductwork and combines hardware, sensors, smart thermostat controls, and energy‑monitoring software. Added to this is Jetson Care, a subscription service that offers a 10‑year warranty, monitoring, annual checkups, and remote diagnostics. These features make system maintenance proactive rather than reactive.

Jetson Market Footprint & Expansion

Since its commercial rollout in October 2024, Jetson has completed nearly 1,000 installs in British Columbia, Massachusetts, and Colorado. The company is now preparing to enter New York and other U.S. markets. Contractors and B2B partners in these areas should take note: Jetson’s model may redefine customer expectations around cost, speed, and service.

What Jetson Means for Contractors & Industry Players

For HVAC contractors, distributors, and manufacturers:

  • There’s increased pressure to offer transparent, fixed‑pricing models and reduce the layers between product source and installation.

  • Digital tools for remote design, thermal modeling, and rebate management are becoming table stakes, companies that lag risk losing customers.

  • The emphasis on cold‑climate performance and smart, connected features suggests future differentiation will come from system reliability, software integration, and long‑term service offerings (like preventative maintenance, remote diagnostics).

  • Partnerships may need to evolve: firms involved in rebate processing, logistics, or supporting software platforms have opportunities to align with or provide components of Jetson’s model.
